EVIDENCE OF PAST WORK FOR WARNER ROBINS HOUSING AUTHORITY'S ROSS COORDINATOR

The Warner Robins Housing Authority goal for their youth is to provide programs, workshops, summer camps and youth forums that will give them an alternative against violence and gang activity. We have served over 425 youth within the last five years. We provided a platform through Peach State Health Plan, HODAC /Teen Dating/-Teen Violence, University of Georgia Expanded Food Nutrition Program, and after school programs. Local partners, interns from local area colleges and staff members provided supportive services for our youth. As a result the youth have gained a sense of wanting to finish school, go to college, steering free of gang activity, crime and becoming productive for themselves as well as their families. We feel more needs to be done through the local school system, local universities and the city to help promote the consequences of violence, substance abuse, teen pregnancies, absenteeism's and suspensions. Educating our youth is the key. The Warner Robins Housing Authority's goal is to provide programs and activities that will provide positive motivational information aimed towards motivating for a successful future for our youth.
